Mark Sizemore's 1966 Chevelle

Mark Sizemore's 1966 Chevelle

The Challenge

Build a timeless-looking muscle car with supercar performance potential. The idea with this one is to keep the lines pure, letting the visual integrity of proportion and shape that GM designed in decades ago shine through for decades to come. Underneath, everything will be modern and purpose-built, with lots of one-off pieces, incredible performance potential...and a twist.

What We've Done So Far

This is where the twist starts coming into play. Mark Sizemore, the Chevelle's owner, has given BBT free reign to design the car the way they want. That's because the 1966 Chevelle holds special meaning for Troy; it's the year Chevelle his dad owned when Troy was a kid and the car that introduced Troy to rodding and customizing cars. For Mark's Chevelle, Troy's spec'd a Fast Track frame, with custom-built wheels and massive tires to handle the 1000 horsepower that'll come from the Carma Performance supercharged LT4. In another twist, the transmission choice to back this beast of an engine is a BMW sequential-shift, dual-clutch transmission. Inside, and out, this Chevelle will stay true to its heritage. Though the interior will feature many custom touches and a lot more comfort than ever before, it will still look like a '66 Chevelle. More of the same is planned for the outside, which means tucked bumpers and detailed trim but not much else. Like we said, timeless.
