Vic Buraglio's 1969 Charger

Vic Buraglio's 69 Charger

The Challenge

Create a modern version of Vic Buraglio's 1969 Dodge Charger. This meant making it go better, stop better and look better? Wait. How can we make a '69 Charger look better?

What We Did

To make it modern, mean and MOPAR-menacing, we added a Hillborn Injected 426 Gen3 HEMI from Indy Cylinder Heads. We also went with a full Roadster Shop Chassis that adds three inches to the factory wheelbase, added lots of hand-formed aluminum pieces and custom machined 19x10 and 19x12 wheels from Greening Auto Company. We even "recreated" the Charger's original green interior. Then we did the unthinkable. We changed one of the Charger's classic call out features, where the quarters and fenders intersect at the door. Put another way, we got rid of that detail all together with custom fabbed door skins. We also lost the fake vents in the doors and on the hood. We still retained the Charger's classic Coke Bottle shape, we just think we made it easier for your eyes to drink it in.

What We Achieved

Well, for starters, we pissed off more than a few MOPAR fans. We're happy to say we made quite a few of them happy too, not because they thought there was anything wrong with the original Charger but just because they like the "what if" thinking and creativity of our version. Most importantly though is that Vic loves it.
